Privacy Policy
StudyRaah XI-XII was earlier called StudyBuddy XI-XII. Only the name has changed: every account, password, plan and record continues exactly as before, and this page applies to them in the same way.
For students, in simple words: we only keep what is needed to run your study account. We never show ads, never sell your information and never track you around the internet. Only your professors and the site admin can see your details. Your parent or guardian can ask us to show, fix or delete everything at any time.
For parents and guardians: StudyRaah is a study website for Std XI and XII Commerce students, most of whom are under 18. We ask for your agreement before a child's account is used, we collect as little as we can, and we use it only for the child's education.
1. Who we are
StudyRaah XI-XII (the “site”) is a study website for Maharashtra State Board Std XI and XII Commerce students, run by Siddharth Perti (“we”, “us”). Its only purpose is education. Contact details are in section 12.
2. A site made for students
- There is no advertising, no shopping links and no marketing messages to students.
- There is no chat, posting, photo upload or messaging between students, and no public profiles. Other students cannot see who you are or how you score.
- We do not track students' behaviour, build profiles of them, or show targeted content.
- We do not ask for a photo, home address, date of birth, ID number, school ID or location.
3. What we collect
If a student uses the site as a guest, nothing is sent to us. Their activity stays in their own browser.
If a student creates an account, we collect:
| About | What | Why |
|---|---|---|
| The student | A name they choose (a first name or nickname is fine), a password (kept only as a one-way scrambled value, so we cannot read it), their standard and their college. | To run the account and show the right chapters. |
| The student's study | Chapters revised, quiz and mock-test scores, test history and study statistics. | To show the student's own progress and let their professors help them. |
| The parent or guardian | Name, email address and mobile number, and the date and time they agreed to this policy and the Terms. | To get and record their agreement, to reset a forgotten password by email, and so the admin can reach them about the account. |
| The account | Plan dates, any request to move from Standard XI to XII with the admin's reply, and messages we send about the account. | To manage the plan and answer requests. |
| Problem reports | Only if someone uses Report a problem: what they write, which part of the site it is about, the page they were on, their device and browser type (for example “Android · Chrome”), their StudyRaah name if signed in, and a phone number or email only if they choose to give one. | To find and fix the problem and, if a contact was given, to say when it is fixed. |
| Doubts | Only if a student uses Doubts: the question they write, the subject and chapter, the professor or tuition teacher it was sent to, and the replies. Solved doubts are deleted after one year, and all of a student's doubts are deleted with their account. | |
| Phone notifications | Only if someone turns on notifications in the app: a technical address for their phone or browser, created by Google, Apple, Mozilla or Microsoft, used only to deliver StudyRaah notifications. Notifications show no results or personal details beyond a subject and chapter. Turning notifications off deletes the address. | |
| Class photo or logo | Only if a tuition teacher or coaching-class owner uploads one: a small square picture shown at the top of StudyRaah to that class's students. The owner can change or remove it at any time, and the site admin can remove it. | |
| Tutors' chapter notes | Only if a tuition teacher or coaching class uploads them: PDF notes for a chapter, given only to the students who joined that class. The teacher can replace or remove them at any time, and the site admin can remove them. The teacher is responsible for having the right to share what they upload. | |
| Security check | Only when someone creates an account, applies as a Professor or asks for a password-reset code: Cloudflare Turnstile checks that a real person (not a computer program) is using the site. It looks at technical signals from the browser for a moment; it does not use advertising cookies and does not track anyone across other websites. We receive only a pass or fail result. | To stop fake accounts, spam applications and misuse of password-reset emails. |
| Sign in with Google | Only if someone chooses to sign in with Google: Google's account number for them and their Google email address, so that Google can open their StudyRaah account. We do not receive their Google password, contacts, photos or anything else. Google's sign-in button is loaded from Google on the sign-in screen. The link can be removed at any time in My account. | To let the person sign in without a password. |
| Group payments | Only if a professor, tuition teacher or coaching class pays for students' plans: the students chosen, the plan, the amount, the date and the payment reference number (UTR) the payer enters. We do not receive or keep any bank, card or UPI PIN details; the payment is made in the payer's own UPI or bank app. | To check the payment, switch on the plans and handle any refund. |
| Security | A count of sign-in attempts, sign-ups and questions per day against a network (IP) address, kept for a short time. | To stop misuse. |
Payments: paid plans are not on sale yet. When they are, a parent or guardian pays through a payment provider (such as Razorpay). We learn that a payment was made, but never see card, UPI PIN or bank details.
Professors: a Professor who applies for an account gives a name, a password (kept only as a one-way scrambled value), email, mobile number, the college they teach at, the standards and subjects they teach, and an optional note. Only the site admin sees this. A Professor account is created only after the admin approves the application, and it can see only the students of the colleges, classes and subjects the admin assigns.
4. How we contact families
We write only to the parent or guardian's email, and only about the account: password reset codes, decisions on a Standard XI to XII request, and plan and renewal reminders. We do not send marketing or newsletters. Students see messages from the admin inside the site.
5. Who can see the information
| Who | What they can see |
|---|---|
| The student | Their own account. |
| The site admin | All account details, including the parent or guardian's name, email and mobile, results, plan, requests and problem reports. The admin does not read the doubts students send to their professors. |
| The student's professors and tuition teachers | The student's name, standard, college and results, only for their own subjects: college professors for the colleges and classes the admin has assigned to them, and tuition teachers or coaching classes only if the student joined the class with its code (the student can leave at any time); in a coaching class, each teacher only in the subjects and standards the class owner gave them. They also see the doubts the student sends to them and, when paying for students' plans, whether each of their students has a plan and until when. They cannot see the parent's details. |
| Our service providers | Cloudflare hosts the site and its database and runs the Ask StudyRaah feature. Google (Gmail) delivers our emails, such as password reset codes, from itstuddyraah@gmail.com. Google also provides the optional Sign in with Google. Cloudflare Turnstile provides the security check on sign-up, applications and password-reset requests. Google, Apple, Mozilla or Microsoft deliver app notifications to phones that turned them on; the notification is encrypted so they cannot read it. A payment provider will process payments when paid plans start. |
We do not sell or rent anyone's information. We share it with others only if the law requires us to. Professors and the admin may use students' information only to support their learning (see the Terms).
6. A parent or guardian's agreement
When a student signs up, they enter their parent or guardian's name, email and mobile number and tick a box saying that person has read this policy and the Terms and agrees. We record the date and time. We may contact the parent or guardian using the details given to confirm. If a parent or guardian tells us they did not agree, or they withdraw their agreement, we will close the account and delete its data (section 9). A student who is 18 or older may agree for themselves.
We are working towards a stronger check (a confirmation email to the parent or guardian) as soon as our email sending is switched on.
7. Ask StudyRaah (AI help)
When a student asks a question, the question and a few matching textbook notes are processed by an AI model running on Cloudflare's Workers AI service. We do not save the questions in our database. Students are told not to type personal details into a question. AI answers can occasionally be wrong, and students can report any mistake to us.
8. Keeping it safe
Connections use HTTPS. Passwords are stored only as hashes. Our safety backups are encrypted. Admin and professor access is separate and limited, and sign-in attempts are rate-limited. No online service is perfectly safe. If a breach affects a child's data, we will tell the parent or guardian and the authorities as the law requires.
9. How long we keep it, and deleting it
We keep the information while the account exists. A student can delete their account any time from Progress → My account → Delete my account, or a parent or guardian can ask us to (section 12). The profile, parent or guardian details, results, requests and messages are then removed from our live database. Problem reports are deleted 90 days after the problem is marked fixed, and straight away when the account is deleted. Our encrypted safety backups are deleted after at most 30 days (the newest one is kept until a newer one replaces it), and our hosting provider keeps a restore history for up to 30 days. A short record that the account was deleted (the user name and date, nothing else) may be kept for administration.
10. Rights of parents, guardians and students
- See and download: Progress → My account → Download my data, or ask us.
- Correct: the parent or guardian's email and mobile can be changed in My account. For anything else, ask us.
- Delete or withdraw agreement: as in section 9.
- Complain: to us first (section 12). You may also have the right to approach the Data Protection Board of India.
11. Local storage
The site keeps sign-in, progress, theme and similar settings in the browser's local storage so it works quickly and offline. These are needed for the site to work. We use no advertising or analytics cookies, and the site's fonts are served from our own site, so your visit is not shared with font or advertising companies.
12. Contact and grievances
Siddharth Perti, StudyRaah XI-XII
Email: siddharthperti@gmail.com
Please write from the parent or guardian's email address, with the student's StudyRaah name. We will acknowledge within 2 working days and aim to resolve within 30 days.
13. Changes
If we change this policy in a way that matters, we will update the date above and ask for the parent or guardian's agreement again where needed.
This page is a plain-language policy prepared for the site. It is not legal advice, and it should be reviewed by a lawyer before paid plans start.
